From 6 to 106

Tied 100meters up the side of the cliff, freezing in a hail storm, and Dave with no shirt on was all enough to precipitate change. We decided to leave Colorado and head to the more mellow Vedauwoo, Wyoming.

Vedauwoo is known for a style of climbing that Erin and I are not that familiar with. The cracks are really wide and you have to put your body in the "off-width" crack and worm your way up the cliff. The temperatures dropped to as low as 6 degrees while we were there climbing, also the routes were very hard and falls were plentiful. So we decide to head for Oregon to see our good buddies Callum and Rebecca.

On the long drive from Wyoming to Oregon we couldn't drive past a favourite climbing area we had been to in the summer of 2005, City of Rocks, Idaho. We had an amazing day of climbing, starting with breakfast at the local Inn with lots of country culture. After a great day climbing 7 routes and enjoying the sun we were ready to get some R&R at our friends in Oregon.

Callum and Rebecca have an awesome little house across the street from the park in the north part of Portland. We have been here during a heat wave with temperatures getting to as hot as 106 last week. Fine dinning, slack lining, yoga and river floating take up most of our days now.

Tonight we are off to Squamish...we are hoping for sunshine.

Thanks to Rebecca and Callum for their hospitality and entertainment...see you in a couple of weeks.
